§ 1-16-31. AMENDMENTS.
   The county governing body may adopt amendments to the provisions of this chapter if it is determined that any such amendment will better the public interest and the general purpose of this chapter. Proposals for an amendment may be initiated as provided in the charter. All amendments shall be received by the Planning Commission and their recommendation shall be submitted to the county governing body. The Planning Commission shall hold a public hearing prior to submitting its recommendations to the county governing body. Prior to making a decision on the proposed amendments, the County Council shall hold a public hearing. The date and place of all public hearings on the proposed amendments shall be advertised in at least 1 daily newspaper of general circulation in the county at least 14 days prior to the hearing.
