§ 2-11-2. Stop signs.
   The board of county commissioners shall erect and maintain, out of the receipt of their office, along the rights of way of the county roads, the necessary stop signs and the necessary signs, signals, markers or road names, for the purpose of directing the traveling public, warning them of danger, or for any other purpose. Any person who fails to obey such stop signs, unless traffic is controlled by traffic signals or officers, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to a fine of not less than five dollars ($5.00) nor more than twenty-five ($25.00). Any person who removes, damages or defaces any such sign, signals, markers or road names shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and fined a sum not less than twenty-five dollars ($25.00) nor more than one hundred dollars ($100.00). Such fines shall be paid to the board of county commissioners for road maintenance purposes.
