§ 2-8-1. APPROVAL OF VOLUNTEER FIRE, RESCUE AND AMBULANCE DEPARTMENTS.
   It shall be unlawful for any persons or association to provide any formally organized fire protection or firefighting or service, rescue or ambulance service in Frederick County unless a volunteer fire department, rescue department, or ambulance department is incorporated, designated, and approved and recognized by the Frederick County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association, Inc., and the board of county commissioners. Any person or association violating this chapter shall be subject to being enjoined from violating this chapter, and in addition, a civil penalty may be recovered by the board of county commissioners in the amount of two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) for each offense from any person violating this chapter. This chapter does not include fire, rescue, and ambulance departments organized by and for service to government installations and private industry.
