The judges of the circuit court for the county, or any one of them, may appoint one person to serve as the court crier, the bailiff, and the librarian of the law library and pass orders for the government and regulation thereof. The compensation of such person for the performance of his duties shall be fixed by the board of county commissioners commensurable with his duties, and such sum shall be levied for on the taxable property of the county by the board of county commissioners and shall be paid by the collector of taxes of the county.
