8-1-3: SERVICE PIPES AND APPURTENANCES:
   A.   All corporation stops shall be installed on the side of the main water line with zero leakage. All pipe between the corporation stop and the curb stop shall be at same depth as the main water line or no less than seven feet six inches (7'6") below the street surface. All curb stops shall be located within five feet (5') of the curb or street and alley line where the curb has not been installed. All curb stop standpipes shall be level with the surrounding surface. All pipes shall be of heavy duty copper or other material authorized by the superintendent of no less than three-fourths inch (3/4"). Larger pipe may be of other material authorized by the superintendent. All repairs or replacements of service pipes between the curb stop and the building plumbing shall be made at the expense of the consumer. Any repairs or replacements between the main and the curb stop, including the curb stop, shall be made at the expense of the city.
   B.   Check valves are hereby required on all connections to steam boilers or on any connections deemed by the superintendent to require one. (Ord. 125, 12-6-2004)
