6-4-1: DEFINITIONS:
All definitions in Minnesota Statutes sections 84.81 and 84.92 are adopted and incorporated in this chapter as if fully set out herein. As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the definitions ascribed to them in this section:
ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLE (ATV): A motorized, flotation tired vehicle of not less than three (3) low pressure tires, but not more than six (6) tires, that is limited in engine displacement of less than eight hundred (800) cubic centimeters and includes a Class 1 all-terrain vehicle and a Class 2 all-terrain vehicle, which are defined as follows:
Class 1 All-Terrain Vehicle: An all-terrain vehicle that has a total dry weight of less than nine hundred (900) pounds.
Class 2 All-Terrain Vehicle: An all-terrain vehicle that has a total dry weight of nine hundred (900) to one thousand five hundred (1,500) pounds.
OPERATE: To ride in or on and control the operation of a snowmobile or all-terrain vehicle.
SNOWMOBILE: A self-propelled vehicle designated for travel on snow or ice, steered by skis or runners. (Ord. 122, 1-5-2004; amd. 2008 Code)
