§ 52.03 ELIMINATION OF CROSS-CONNECTIONS.
No private water system may be connected in any manner to the public water system unless the requirements of this chapter and other applicable laws have been satisfied. Only an approved device can be installed to meet the requirements of this chapter. The installation of any backflow prevention assembly which is not approved must be replaced with an approved backflow prevention assembly. The city has concluded that “containment” is the best and safest method of cross-connection control. The safest and most appropriate device is the reduced pressure principle assembly.
