Before entering upon the duties of their respective offices, the Treasurer shall execute a bond, to the city, in the penal sum of $10, the Chief of Police a bond in the penal sum of $2,500, and each member of the police force a bond in the penal sum of $1,000, each bond conditioned for the faithful performance of his or her duties, and includes in the same bond the duties of all offices of which each such person is made ex officio incumbent. Each bond shall be approved by the Commission.
