§ 32.04 HIRING OF RELATIVES.
   (A)   No person shall be employed by the city for work to be preformed within the same division or work unit in any of the various departments wherein the applicant for employment is related by blood or marriage to a then existing employee within the department in any of the following degrees, viz, husband, wife, father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law or brother-in-law. For the purpose of this section, DIVISION or WORK UNIT shall mean a separate unit of a department that has been set up in the regular and normal functioning routine of the department’s area of operation. For example, the Patrol Division of the Police Department has several sections. It is the intent of this section that any person haying such a relationship described could be employed as long as such employment is not within the same structured division, work unit or section.
   (B)   It is further ordained that no person shall be employed by the city for services in any department of the city who is related by blood or marriage to any currently serving elected city official or the City Manager in any of the following degrees of relationship, viz, husband, wife, father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law or brother-in-law.
