§ 30.04 SALARIES OF THE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION.
   Effective January 1, 2023, beginning with the 2023 terms of the then current Mayor and members of the City Commission, the salary of the Mayor shall be set at a new salary rate of $30,000 per year with health insurance benefits to continue as previously set by ordinances relating to the salary of the Mayor; and the salary of each member of the City Commission shall be set at $15,000 per year and, in addition, City Commissioners shall receive single or family employee health insurance benefits, as requested by the Commissioner. If a Commissioner is on or qualifies for a Medicare supplement, the city shall reimburse the Commissioner the cost of said supplement for the Commissioner and his or her spouse. Further, due to the increased responsibility and time required to serve as members of the City Commission, the Commission declares and submits that all members of the City Commission shall remain qualified for and shall receive retirement benefits through the County Employees Retirement System (CERS) as set by and through CERS at the rate allowable under the CERS plan and all applicable laws and regulations of the commonwealth and the city’s ordinances, regulations and/or policies.
