Membership shall be as follows:
A. The plan commission shall consist of a chairman and six (6) other members who shall be appointed by the village president and confirmed by the village board. Initially, the village president shall appoint the chairman and two (2) members for three (3) year terms, two (2) members for two (2) year terms and two (2) members for one year terms. Thereafter, each successive member and chairman shall serve two (2) year terms, unless appointed to serve the remaining unexpired term of a member or chairman, and shall serve until their successors have been appointed and qualified.
B. Members of the plan commission must reside within the corporate limits of the village or within one and one-half (11/2) miles of such corporate limits. At no time shall more than three (3) members of the plan commission reside outside the corporate limits of the village. The chairman of the plan commission must reside within the village's corporate limits. (Ord. 609, 4-9-2001)
