For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
DELETED OR PRIVATE ROAD. A road which is not part of the county road system, is not a public right-of-way, and is not maintained by the county, and over which the county claims no jurisdiction.
GRAVEL ROAD. A road, street, alley, and bridge laid out or established for the public, or dedicated or abandoned to the public, which is not paved with asphalt and consists of gravel only, and for the purposes of the road map may include major or minor county roads.
PRIMARY PAVED ROAD. A road, street, alley, and bridge laid out or established for the public, or dedicated or abandoned to the public, which is paved with asphalt, and for the purposes of the road map may include state highways and major county roads.
PRIMITIVE ROAD. As shown on the road map, means a road open to the public and under the jurisdiction of Franklin County, where Franklin County has no obligation to construct or maintain the same for vehicular traffic.
ROAD. Rights-of-way, trails, paths, roads, streets, alleys, and bridges laid out or established for the pubic or dedicated or abandoned to the public, and which shall be open to the public.
ROAD MAP. The Official Road Map of Franklin County attached hereto, as the same may be amended from time to time according to law.
SEASONAL AND MINIMAL UPKEEP ROAD. A road, street, alley, and bridge laid out or established for the public, or dedicated or abandoned to the public, which is not paved with asphalt and consists of gravel only, and for the purposes of the road map is a county road, but which is only minimally maintained and is open only during certain seasons. No snow removal is provided, and access is limited and seasonal.
SECONDARY PAVED ROAD. A road, street, alley, and bridge laid out or established for the public, or dedicated or abandoned to the public, which is paved with asphalt, and for the purposes of the road map includes major county roads.
UNIMPROVED ROAD. As shown on the road map, means a road or public right-of-way open to the public and under the jurisdiction of Franklin County, where Franklin County has no obligation to construct or maintain the same for vehicular traffic.
