All licenses required by this subchapter shall be for a full year commencing January 1, unless otherwise specifically provided, and the full license fee shall be paid unless at the time the first application is made there are less than six months in the license year remaining, in which case the fee shall be ½ the annual fee prescribed herein. All licenses required by this subchapter shall expire on December 31, next after issuance, unless previously revoked.
