§ 98.01 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   COWLING. The forward portions of a snowmobile surrounding the motor and clutch assembly.
   DANGEROUS DRUG refers to any drug defined as a depressant or stimulant substance in the "Illinois Controlled Substances Act," III. Rev. Stat. Ch. 56½, par. 1100-1602 (1985).
   HIGHWAY. The entire width between the boundary lines of every federal and state numbered public way maintained when any part thereof is open to the use of the public for purposes of vehicular traffic.
   INTOXICATING BEVERAGE shall include spirits, wine, beer, ale and every other liquid or solid containing alcohol, spirits, wine or beer capable of being consumed as a beverage by human beings.
   OPERATE. To ride in or on, use or control the operation of a snowmobile in any manner, whether or not the snowmobile is underway.
   OPERATOR refers to every person who operates or is in actual physical control of a snowmobile.
   OWNER. A person, other than a lienholder, having title to a snowmobile. The term includes a person entitled to the use or possession of a snowmobile subject to an interest in another person, reserved or created by agreement and securing payment or performance of an obligation, but the term includes a lessee under a lease not intended as security.
   PERSON. An individual, partnership, firm, corporation or association.
   REGISTER. The act of assigning a registration number to a snowmobile.
   ROADWAY refers to that portion of a street or highway improved, designed or ordinarily used for vehicular travel, exclusive of the shoulder.
   SNOWMOBILE. A self-propelled device designed for travel over snow or ice or natural terrain steered by skis or runners, and supported in part by skis, belts or cleats.
   VILLAGE refers to the Village of Frankfort, Will County, Illinois.
   STREET. The entire width of a public right-of-way used or planned for use for vehicular traffic and maintained by the local jurisdiction of the county, township or municipality.
