§ 92.10 VACCINATION (INOCULATION AGAINST RABIES).
   (A)   Duty; tag. The owner of any dog, cat or ferret over four months of age, kept, maintained, possessed or harbored within the village shall cause the dog, cat or ferret to receive from a veterinarian a rabies vaccine once each year, or as otherwise required by law, and shall maintain on its collar a tag, evidencing such current vaccination.
   (B)   Certificate. The vaccination of dogs, cats or ferrets as required by this chapter shall be performed by a veterinarian duly licensed to practice in Illinois. Upon administering such vaccination, such veterinarian shall issue to the owner a certificate showing such fact and shall also deliver to such owner or keeper a metallic or other suitable tag to be attached to the collar of such dog.
   (C)   Duration. The vaccination performed under the provisions of this chapter shall be effective until the expiration of one year from the date the vaccination was performed or such extended effective period of the vaccination as allowed by law.
   (D)   Exhibition of certificate. At any reasonable time upon the request of the Animal Control Officer or other enforcement officer, the owner of any unmuzzled dog shall exhibit a certificate, issued under the provisions of this chapter, showing the vaccination of any dog owned or controlled by him or her.
