The terms of municipal officials elected at the consolidated election conducted on the first Tuesday in April of odd numbered years shall commence at the first regular or special meeting of the corporate authorities of the village, whichever such meeting occurs first, in the month of May immediately following such consolidated election, at which meeting said newly elected municipal officials shall be inaugurated and seated.
