A. Wind Pressure And Dead Load Requirements: Any sign, other advertising structure, marquee, canopy or awning, as defined in this chapter, shall be designed and constructed to withstand a wind pressure of not less than required by the adopted Building Code, and shall be constructed to receive dead loads as required in the most recent edition of the adopted Building Code.
B. Sign Face To Be Smooth: Any sign, other advertising structure, marquee, canopy or awning, as defined in this chapter, which is within ten feet (10') of a public thoroughfare, shall have no nails, tacks or wires or other hazardous projections protruding therefrom.
All letters, figures, characters or representations in cut- out or irregular form, maintained in conjunction with, attached to or superimposed upon any sign shall be safely and securely built or attached to the sign structure.
C. Glass; Limitations: Any glass forming a part of any sign shall be safety glass thickness of one-fourth inch (1/4").
D. Maintenance Of Property: All signs and the premises adjacent thereto shall be maintained by the owner thereof in a clean, sanitary and inoffensive manner, and free and clear of all obnoxious substances, rubbish and weeds.
E. Maintenance Required: The permittee of each sign shall maintain said sign and all parts and supports thereof to prohibit any discoloration of the finish coat, rust, cracking, missing components, and/or no longer being straight or level. (Ord. 2017-54, 11-28-2017)
