Certain temporary signs noted below shall be permitted in all zoning districts. All temporary signs must be non-illuminated. A temporary sign shall be permitted for the length of time set forth on the required permit therefor, as established by the following schedule and shall thereafter be removed unless such permit is extended by the Community Development Director. All temporary signs are to meet safety requirements of the building regulations of the zoning ordinance.
   A.   Advertising Permitted: The advertising contained on any temporary sign shall pertain only to the business, industry or pursuit conducted on or within the premises on which such sign is erected or maintained. This provision shall not apply to signs of a civic, political or religious nature.
   B.   Construction Signs: Which identify the name of the developers, contractors, engineers and architects on a site being developed. Construction signs may be erected according to the following standards:

Construction signs are permitted for up to one year and may be renewable. Construction signs must be removed within fourteen (14) days following an approved final inspection or expiration of a permit.
   C.   Subdivision Business Signs: Subdivision business signs which advertise a residential, commercial or industrial subdivision under development and located on the premises of said development. Subdivision business signs may be erected according to the following standards:

   D.   Banner Signs: Civic, patriotic, religious organizations or businesses celebrating a grand opening may obtain, at no cost, a permit for a banner sign for a period not to exceed fourteen (14) days, and cannot exceed sixteen (16) square feet provided that such signs are not placed in a position that will obstruct or impair vision or traffic or any way or manner create a hazard or disturbance to the health, safety and welfare of the general public.
   E.   Political Signs: The maximum size for a political sign shall be sixteen (16) square feet, and neither the length nor width of the sign shall exceed four feet (4'). No more than eighty (80) square feet of total political signage shall be allowed per property. Political signs shall not be placed in the public right-of-way. (Ord. 2017-54, 11-28-2017)
   F.   Interchangeable Temporary Sign: A sign that is no larger than three feet (3') in width and four feet (4') in height and held in place by a permanent frame constructed of stone, brick, painted aluminum/steel or painted/stained wood where temporary signs are interchangeable within the permanent frame. Temporary signage does not require a permit for each occurrence the temporary sign is changed. The only permit required is for the installation of the permanent frame. Interchangeable temporary sign frames shall be no taller than five and one-half feet (51/2') in height and cannot be placed in the public right-of-way. (Ord. 2018-36, 8-14-2018)
   G.   Location: No temporary sign shall extend over or into any street, alley, sidewalk or other public thoroughfare or a distance greater than four inches (4") from the wall to which it is attached, and shall not be placed or project over any wall opening. (Ord. 2017-54, 11-28-2017)
