A. Any person who may desire to disconnect territory from the village shall file a petition therefor and shall proceed in accordance with relevant provisions of the Illinois municipal code related to disconnection 1 .
B. The filing fee for a disconnection petition shall be five thousand dollars ($5,000.00), plus an additional fee of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) for each acre or part thereof to be disconnected, payable to the village clerk or village treasurer. Said fee shall be nonrefundable.
C. In addition to the filing fee, the petitioner shall deposit with the village clerk an amount determined by the village administrator to enable the petitioner to comply with section 6-1-11 of this code related to development fees.
D. The board of trustees shall cause such investigation to be made as it deems appropriate, shall require the petitioner to provide such documentation as the board deems appropriate, and shall render a decision on the petition and notify the petitioner of the action taken promptly thereafter.
