It shall be the duty of every police officer or authorized village official, to apprehend any dog or cat found running at large contrary to the provisions of this chapter and to impound such dog or cat in a pound or other suitable place. Upon impounding any such animal, he shall make a complete registry, entering the breed, color and sex of such animal and whether licensed. If licensed, he shall enter the name and address of the owner and the number of the license tag. Licensed dogs and cats shall be separated from those unlicensed dogs and cats. (Ord. 98-48, 8-3-1998)
