A. Every owner of a dog or cat four (4) months or more of age, animal impounding facilities and laboratory animal facilities, shall cause such dog or cat to be inoculated with rabies vaccine by a licensed veterinarian at such intervals as approved by the Illinois department of agriculture. The rabies vaccine shall be licensed by the United States department of agriculture and approved by the Illinois department of agriculture. (Ord. 98-48, 8-3-1998; amd. Ord. 2013-34, 12-10-2013)
B. No license for a dog shall be issued unless the application for said license is accompanied by a certificate by a veterinarian or the county rabies inspector that said dog has received inoculations for rabies prevention within the preceding year as required by this section. (Ord. 98-48, 8-3-1998)
