§ 153.09 ZONING.
   The Planning Commission shall perform such duties and serve in the capacities prescribed in the zoning ordinance. It shall be the function of the Planning Commission to recommend to the Village Council appropriate regulations and the boundaries of district or zones, in accordance with Act No. 207 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1921 (M.C.L.A. §§ 125.581 et seq.) as amended, which will be designed to limit the overcrowding of land, to avoid undue congestion of population, to facilitate adequate provision for a system of transportation, sewage disposal, water, education, recreation and other public requirements, and to promote the public health, safety and general welfare. Amendments or supplements to the zoning ordinance and maps adopted by the Village Council, may be made only after a report has been made thereon by the Planning Commission to the Village Council.
