(A) Boundaries.
(1) Limits designated. That portion of the village within the following described boundaries is hereby designated as and to be the fire limits of the village:
All that area bounded by Cherry Street on the south; Illinois Central Railroad tracks on the east; State Street on the north and the alley between 1st Avenue and 2nd Avenue on the west.
(2) Boundaries extended. The fire limit boundaries of the village shall be extended as follows:
From East Cherry Street to State Street, the fire zone shall be extended east from Chestnut Street to Oak Street.
(B) Exterior coverings. It shall be unlawful to construct or erect any building or structure in the fire limits unless the exterior walls and roof of such building or structure are covered or constructed with nonflammable material; provided, that this shall not operate to prohibit the construction of wooden porches, balconies or ornamental work no higher than the second story within such limits.
(C) Repairs. It shall be unlawful to repair any existing frame building within the fire limits after the same shall be damaged by any cause to 50% of its value. Any existing frame building within the fire limits may be brick veneered.
