The Village Clerk shall:
(A) Signatures. Seal and attest all contracts of the village, and all licenses, permits and other such documents as shall require this formality;
(B) Money collected. Turn over all money received by him or her on behalf of the village to the Village Treasurer promptly on receipt of the same; and with such money he or she shall give a statement as to the source thereof;
(C) Accounts. Keep accounts showing all money received by him or her on behalf of the village, and the source and disposition thereof and such other accounts as may be required by statute or ordinance;
(D) Seal. Be the custodian of the village seal and shall affix its impression on documents whenever it is required;
(F) Indices. Keep and maintain a proper index to all documents and records kept by him or her, so that ready access thereto and use thereof may be had;
(G) Act as village collector. Act as village collector unless and until a separate village collector is appointed as provided by law; and
(H) Additional duties. In addition to the duties herein provided, perform such duties and functions as may be required by statute or ordinance, and attend all meetings of the Village Board, and keep a full record of its proceedings in the journal provided therefor; and he or she shall record in a book to be kept for that purpose, all ordinances passed by the Village Board, and at the foot of the record shall make a memorandum of the date of the passage, approval and publication of such ordinance.
