§ 132.252 INJURING OR KILLING POLICE DOGS.
   (A)   No person shall willfully or maliciously injure or kill any dog which is under the control, possession, or ownership of the Police Department to assist in law enforcement activity, whether or not the dog is then engaged in law enforcement activity.
   (B)   The provisions of division (A) above shall be inapplicable to:
      (1)   Humane veterinary destruction of a dog used for law enforcement purposes.
      (2)   Destruction of a dog used for law enforcement purposes which is necessary in order to provide medical treatment or emergency assistance to the dog's handler who has been disabled and is unable to communicate with his/her dog in order to allow such treatment or assistance to be provided.
   (C)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree.
