§ 96.22 ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER OR POLICE OFFICER MAY PROTECT ANIMAL(S).
   When, in order to protect any animal(s) from neglect it is necessary to take possession of said animal(s), the Animal Control Officer or police officer may do so. When an animal is impounded or confined, and continues to be without necessary food, water, proper shelter from the weather, or proper attention for more than 15 successive hours, officers may enter any place in which the animal is impounded or confined and remove for convenience and supply it with necessary food, water, proper shelter and proper attention; and he shall not be liable to action for such entry. The Animal Control Officer or police officer must receive an order for the purpose of entry from a court of competent jurisdiction after submitting evidence indicating probable cause exists before entering a secured building to remove the animal(s).
