§ 36.112 DEMOTIONS FOR DISCIPLINARY PURPOSES.
   The City Manager may demote an employee from his/her classification to a lower related classification for purposes of discipline with the approval of the Commission. In such case, the City Manager must first serve the employee with a written notice of demotion and give the employee a fair chance to make and file an explanation of his/her actions. Such demoted employee shall have the right of appeal to the Commission from such action by the City Manager. No employee who is demoted for disciplinary reasons is eligible for a promotional examination within one year of the effective date of his/her demotion.
