§ 36.48 AGE LIMITATIONS PERTAINING TO POLICE OFFICERS AND FIREFIGHTERS.
   No person shall be eligible to receive an original appointment to the Police Department or Fire Department, as a police officer or firefighter, subject to the civil service laws of the city unless the person has reached the age of 21 for police officer positions and the age of 18 for firefighter positions and has passed a physical examination, given by a licensed physician, showing that the person meets the physical requirements necessary to perform the duties of a police officer or firefighter as established by the Commission having jurisdiction over the appointment. The appointing authority shall file with the Police and Firefighters' Disability and Pension Fund a copy of the report or findings of the licensed physician. The professional fee for this physical examination shall be paid by the city.
