Council shall appoint and may remove the Clerk of Council and shall establish his salary by ordinance. The Clerk of Council shall attend all meetings of Council, unless excused by Council, keep its records, and perform all duties prescribed for him in this Charter and such additional duties as may be imposed upon him by any action of Council not inconsistent with the provisions of this Charter. The Clerk of Council shall be a resident of the Municipality. His term shall be for the term of the Council appointing him.
