Upon issuing a bicycle license, the Clerk-Treasurer’s office shall also issue a license plate or tag bearing the license number assigned to the bicycle and the name of the town thereon. The owner of the bicycle shall cause the license plate to be firmly attached to the bicycle for which it has been issued upon that part of the frame extending from the seat to the sprocket housing. In the event that such attachment shall not be possible due to the construction or configuration of the bicycle, the owner of such bicycle shall contact the Town Marshal for permission to locate the license plate or tag at an alternate location on the bicycle. No person shall remove a license plate or tag from a bicycle during the period for which it is issued except upon the transfer of ownership or in the event the bicycle is dismantled or is no longer operative.
