(A) In the event that electrical power is disconnected from a private property by town due to vandalism, flood, fire, or an Act of God, electrical power will not be restored to such private property until a reconnect form has been obtained from the town by the property owner and said form has been completed and returned to the town by a bonded and insured electrician licensed by the state certifying that the private property is safe and suitable for reconnection to electrical power.
(B) The electrician will, in his or her own professional judgment, determine whether it is safe for electrical power to be restored to the private property.
(C) Electrical power may only be restored to a private property after having been disconnected due to vandalism, flood, fire, or an Act of God once the town has received the reconnect form completed and signed by a bonded and insured electrician licensed by the state.
(D) The town’s Utilities Department shall prepare and keep current the contents of the reconnect form, subject to the approval of the Town Council.
(E) That in the event that a qualified official of the town observes an imminent threat to public health or safety caused by an electrical power connection to a building or other structure, such official may, at his or her discretion, order electrical power to be disconnected until such a time that the imminent threat to public health or safety has been remedied. After any such imminent threat to public health or safety has been deemed remedied by said qualified town official, then electrical power may be restored, notwithstanding divisions (A) through (D) above.
