§ 150.02 ELIGIBILITY OF ROAD.
Any citizen who desires to dedicate his or her private road to the town must first present a petition and a map or plat of the street which complies with G.S. § 136-102.6 to the Town Council at a regular, scheduled Town Council meeting. The petition must be signed by 100% of property owners whose land abuts the proposed road to be dedicated to the town, and the road must lie wholly within the town limits. The Town Council will then direct the Town Clerk to verify the validity of the petition. After verification by the Town Clerk that the proposed street meets the requirements of this chapter and state law, the Town Council will call for a public hearing on the issue within 90 days.
