(A) Eligibility. In order to be eligible to serve on any volunteer board, commission or committee whose members are appointed by the Town Council of the Town of Fletcher, any and all prospective nominees must be residents of the town and not owe any delinquent taxes to the town prior to their nomination. Should the position being filled by the Town Council require a citizen to also reside in a particular residential district, then the prospective nominee must also reside in that residential district prior to nomination.
(B) Responsibility. The responsibility of checking into the eligibility requirements of the nominee will be that of the Council person making the nomination.
(C) Exceptions. This section shall not apply to any full- or part-time employees or officers of the town.
