Customers who voluntarily desire water or gas meters turned on or off based on seasonal usage may request same of the city by calling City Hall to schedule the service. If the request is made prior to the meter reading that month, the city will turn the meter on or off while the meter is being read for no charge to the customer. However, if the request is to perform such service prior to the next meter reading date, there will be a turn-on or turn-off service fee of five dollars ($5.00) if within the city limits, ten dollars ($10.00) beyond the city limits but within Fleming County, and twenty dollars ($20.00) for Mason County customers, in order to recover the average costs to perform the service.
