(A) No permit shall be required for the following: replacement of an existing component, i.e. a driveway or sidewalk or an out building (if not enlarged); remodeling the interior of a structure (provided no structural walls are changed); replacing a roof (shingles, metal or other material); installation of new siding; replacement of windows (provided the window size is not enlarged).
(B) A permit shall be required for the following improvements: an increase in the size of an existing structure, i.e. addition of room, enlarging a porch, enclosing a porch, adding a deck; conversion of a garage into a family room or other living quarters; any new structure or addition to an existing structure.
(C) The fees for permits and inspections shall be as follows:
Residential:
New construction $50.00 + .06 sq. ft. ($300.00 maximum)
Addition $20.00 + .05 sq. ft. ($300.00 maximum)
Remodel $20.00
Storage buildings (> 120 sq. ft.) $25.00 + .05 sq. ft. ($300.00 maximum)
Swimming pools $25.00
Other Accessory Structures 20.00
Commercial Multi-Family

(D) In addition, no building or other structure shall be erected, moved, added to, or structurally altered, or demolished without a zoning permit. When required by the Kentucky Building Code, a building permit must also be obtained.
