(A) The members of the Police Department shall be selected and hired by the Police Chief. The Police Chief shall have charge of the Police Department, and each of the police officers shall serve under the Chief’s direction and control or, in the case of the absence of the Chief, any other officer designated by the Chief.
(B) Each police officer, when on duty, shall wear some insignia of the office in a conspicuous place unless the circumstances are such that it is not necessary or there is good reason not to have the insignia displayed.
