The work or use authorized by a building permit shall commence within one year of the date of issuance of such permit. Otherwise, the same shall lapse and become null and void. All work so authorized shall be completed within 24 months from the date of issuance of the permit unless good cause for extending the completion time is shown to the Mayor or his or her designee.
