523.03 RESTRICTIONS ON SMOKING IN PUBLIC PLACES.
   (a)    Smoking Prohibited. No person shall possess lighted smoking materials in any form in any of the following enclosed public places:
      (1)    Retail stores and retail service establishments, including, but not limited to, grocery stores, specialty stores, department stores, pharmacies, automobile dealerships, showrooms, banks, professional offices, service stations, repair or maintenance stores, and cleaners and laundromats;
      (2)    Public transportation vehicles, including, but not limited to, trains, buses, taxi cabs, courtesy vehicles, ferries and associated terminals;
      (3)    Halls for hire, arenas and public meeting rooms;
      (4)    Hospitals and health-care facilities, including long term care facilities, adult and child care facilities, and proprietary or satellite emergency care centers;
      (5)    Elevators, stairwells, escalators and hallways;
      (6)    Indoor service lines and waiting areas;
      (7)    Public restrooms;
      (8)    Gymnasiums, exercise rooms and health spas;
      (9)    Libraries and educational facilities; which includes all school/university facilities;
      (10)    Places of exhibition, including, but not limited to, museums, aquariums, galleries and theaters;
      (11)    Polling places;
      (12)    Food preparation and utensil washing areas in eating establishments;
      (13)    Manufacturing facilities except in designated smoking areas that are enclosed or separate from the rest of the facility and do not require people to walk through to get to another area of said facility;
      (14)    All private office buildings and facilities;
      (15)    All government buildings and facilities;
      (16)    Within twenty (20) feet of the main entrances to all government buildings.
   (b)    Smoking Prohibited Except in Designated Sections. Smoking is permitted as provided in Section 523.05 in the following enclosed public places:
      (1)    Eating establishments;
      (2)    Lodging facilities, including rooms rented to guests.
