903.03 BOND REQUIRED.
Before any person, partnership or corporation, including a public utility, is authorized, and before a written permit is granted, to open up or break into the streets, alleys, avenues or public ways of the City, there shall be deposited with the clerk of the Service-Safety Director by the person, partnership or corporation applying for such permit, satisfactory bond in the sum of ten thousand dollars ($10,000). It shall be conditioned to secure and hold harmless the City against any and all damages arising from the opening or excavation made in the street or other public ways of the City, and further conditioned to fill and place in good and safe condition, to the satisfaction of the Service-Safety Director, all openings and excavations. Such bond shall not be held for replacing or repairing the pavement. An annual bond may be given under this provision each year conditioned as above to all openings and excavations made in the streets or other public ways of the City, by the principal in such bond during the term of one year from the date.
