705.20 POLE LINE REGULATIONS.
Any company selected hereunder shall furnish the City at least annually maps or prints showing the pole line system in sufficient detail to assure the City of being currently advised as to the location of the cables of the system. It shall be the responsibility of the company to keep the City advised of any material changes and additions, and removals in the system, except for the individual subscriber's connection wires. Wherever, within the City, other wire carriers such as telephone and electric utilities are compelled, required or elect to place the wires underground, the company shall also place its wire facilities underground. No poles or towers shall be installed by the company on City streets, alleys or public ways except such poles as may be necessary due to the fact that the pole spacing of either the electric or telephone utility makes it impractical to use same. In such an event, the company may set an intervening additional pole within the normal spacing of the electric or telephone utility's pole line, providing specific written approval shall first be obtained from the City Engineer as to actual need. In no event shall the absence of a pole line agreement be regarded as justification for installing poles or towers.
