7-1-13: TREES AND SHRUBS:
   A.   Planting: It shall be unlawful to plant any tree or any bush in any public street or other public place without having first secured permission from the City Council. (1995 Code § 5-1-407)
   B.   Removal Or Cutting: It shall be unlawful to remove or cut down any tree or shrub in any public place without having first secured permission from the City Council.
   C.   Injury: It shall be unlawful to injure any tree or shrub growing in any public place.
   D.   Attachments:
      1.   Sign, Advertisement, Notice: It shall be unlawful to attach any sign, advertisement or notice to any tree or shrub or any such public place. (1995 Code § 5-1-408)
      2.   Wires, Ropes: It shall be unlawful to attach any wire or rope on any tree or shrub on any public street, or other public place, without the permission of the City Council. (1995 Code § 5-1-409)
   E.   Impeding Limbs Removed: Any tree or shrub which overhangs any sidewalk, street or other public place in the City in such a way as to impede with traffic or travel, or within ten feet (10') of a street, or seven feet (7') of a sidewalk level, shall be trimmed by the owner of the premises abutting or of the premises on which the tree or shrub grows so that the obstruction shall cease. Any tree or limb of a tree which has become likely to fall on or across any public way or place shall be removed by the owner of the premises on which the tree grows or stands. The Public Works Superintendent may trim any tree or shrub or may remove any tree or shrub or branch thereof so that the obstruction or danger to traffic or passage shall be done away with.
