4-1-1: DEFINITIONS:
The following terms have the following meanings throughout this chapter:
ASHES: Residue from fires used for cooking and for heating buildings.
COMMERCIAL GARBAGE: Shall refer to "garbage", as defined in this section, produced in commercial establishments, public or quasi-public institutions or establishments, including restaurants, hotels, motels, schools and similar establishments.
CONTAINERS: All garbage or rubbish, either commercial or residential, shall be placed in metal or otherwise sufficient containers which have a cover equipped with handles so that they may be lifted and carried by one person.
GARBAGE: Every refuse accumulation of animals, fruit or vegetable matter, liquid or otherwise, that attends the preparation, use, cooking, dealing in, or storing of meat, fish, fruit or vegetable.
RESIDENTIAL GARBAGE: Shall refer to "garbage", as defined in this section, produced in places of private residence and dining halls not open to the public.
RUBBISH: Waste material and refuse of every character collected or accumulated within the City, except garbage, and shall include by way of enumeration, but not by way of limitation, grass, leaves, sticks, tree branches, stone, concrete, old boards, broken glass, used furniture or household appliances, tin cans and newspapers.
