The purpose of this Chapter is to protect the safety of children cared for in day-care facilities while, at the same time, relieving day-care facilities from certain potentially prohibitive requirements of the Uniform Building Code 1 which are not related to life-safety issues. This Chapter is not intended to replace the State Day Care License Law contained in Idaho Code section 39-1101, et seq., but is intended to supplement that law and to exempt certain day-care facilities from certain provisions of the Uniform Building Code that are not related to life-safety issues.
