A. Ferron City has chosen to require their Fire Department to have a background check before they can be on the official active roster; and
B. The administration needs a standard to follow when evaluating the background checks;
C. That the Ferron City staff will use the following guidelines when evaluating background checks:

Misdemeanor Class B Conviction | Three (3) years from conviction date |
Two (2) or more Misdemeanor Class B or higher-level convictions | Five (5) years from last conviction date |
Misdemeanor Class C - Conviction (excluding traffic) | Two (2) years from conviction date |
DWI or DUI charge with conviction on a reduced level offense (ex: reckless driving or blocking roadway) | Five (5) years from conviction date |
History of family violence reports (suspect in three (3) or more incidents with no convictions) | Ten (10) years from last incident date |
Two (2) or more Misdemeanor Class B (or greater level) arrests | Three (3) years from date of last arrest |
Two (2) or more Misdemeanor Class C level arrests | Two (2) years from date of last arrest
