4-1-1: APPOINTMENT OF FIRE CHIEF AND OFFICERS:
   A.   The Ferron City Mayor and Council shall appoint the Fire Chief in January of each even year for a two (2)-year term. Prior to the term ending, the Council Member over the Department shall meet with the members to review any questions or concerns before the appointment of the Fire Chief takes place. If the Chief position should become vacant, individuals interested shall make application by submitting a letter of interest to the Mayor and Council.
   B.   All other officers in the Fire Department shall be elected by members of the Department.
   C.   Citizens desiring to join the Fire Department shall contact the Fire Chief or an Officer in the Department for approval.
   D.   The Fire Chief will be paid seven dollars ($7.00) per building inspection performed within the Ferron City limits. The Fire Chief will also be paid seven dollars ($7.00) per hour to attend the monthly Emery County Fire Chief meeting. It will be the responsibility of the Fire Chief to submit the request for payment to the City Recorder. The Fire Chief is not required to attend City Council meetings.
   E.   It shall be the responsibility of the Fire Department Officers to deliver a copy of the Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Medical Technicians Policy and Procedures to each Fire Department Member and EMT. (Res. 2012-4, 5-10-2012)
