(A) The application will be reviewed and the property will be inspected pursuant to § 117.06 of this chapter. If the property meets applicable codes, laws and ordinances, and fees have been paid, the code official shall recommend issuance of the registration. If the property does not meet applicable codes, laws and ordinances, the code official will advise the applicant of the deficiencies. The applicant shall address the deficiencies and thereafter request a reinspection of the property. All fees including reinspection fees must be paid prior to issuance of the registration.
(B) The City Administrator or designee may issue a provisional rental registration when corrections required following inspection do not constitute a fire, safety or health hazard to the occupants or the general public, and the repairs are not practically feasible as a result of factors beyond the rental property owner’s control. Such factors may include climatic conditions, or the unavailability of contractors, supplies or materials needed to make the corrections. A provisional rental registration shall be conditioned upon the rental property owner’s making the needed corrections with timelines determined by the City Administrator or designee. The provisional rental registration shall expire if the work is not completed, inspected and approved by the date listed thereon.
