A third or subsequent violation of this chapter in a single 12-month calendar year shall be a misdemeanor. The violation of any provision of this chapter is a misdemeanor and the violator shall be fined or penalized not more than the maximum levels established by the state for misdemeanor offenses. Each day on which the violation continues is a separate offense.
