§ 33.13 SANCTIONS; ENFORCEMENT.
   (A)   Any person who violates any provision of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. The City Administrator shall monitor compliance with this chapter and shall report all suspected violations to the City Attorney. The City Attorney shall review the report of the City Administrator and determine the validity of the complaint, and, if warranted, prosecute the action against any person who violates any provision of this chapter, on behalf of the City of Fergus Falls. It shall not be a conflict of interest for the City Attorney's Office to prosecute a public official for any alleged Code of Ethics violations that constitute a crime pursuant to this chapter. If the City Attorney or a member of the City Attorney's office is suspected of having violated this chapter, the City Administrator shall employ outside special counsel to review the complaint and, if warranted, prosecute the action on behalf of the City of Fergus Falls.
   (B)   In addition to criminal sanctions, a public official who violates this Code of Ethics may also be subject to disciplinary action including termination of City employment, or removal from appointed position.
