(a) No person other than law enforcement officers as defined by the statutes of the State of West Virginia may carry or possess a firearm in the Fayetteville Town Hall Building, the Police Department Building or the Fayetteville Fire Department Building.
(b) Any person carrying or possessing a firearm in violation of this section may be fined not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) or confined in the regional jail for not more than thirty (30) days, or both. Upon passage of this section and in accordance with the provisions of West Virginia Code Chapter 8, Article 12, Section 5a (e) there shall be prominently posted at every entrance into the Town Hall building and the Fayetteville Fire Department Building a copy of this section and a bold sign proclaiming that no firearms are permitted in those buildings.
