(a) In the event that a vacancy occurs in the Office of Recorder for the Town, or the Town Recorder is required to serve as Mayor as a result in the vacancy in that position, the Town Council shall within thirty (30) days of the vacancy appoint a replacement from its members to fill the Office of Recorder until the next election.
(b) In the event that a vacancy occurs in the position of Town Council, the remaining members of Council shall within thirty (30) days of the vacancy appoint a replacement to fill the vacant Council position. At the meeting to appoint a person to Council, the person who received the most votes from those not elected to Council during the last election shall be considered for the vacancy with any other nominations by the Mayor or members of Council.
